The most secure method to cover round hay bales is a sleeved tarp. The sleeved hay tarp utilizes a welded sleeve edge into which a 1” metal pipe is inserted. This gives a rigid edge on the hay tarp which protects the tarp against wind flap. The sleeve will have cutouts every 2m for the installer to tie off to anchors. To secure the ends, thread webbing or rope through the sleeve and secure to an anchor each side.
Other alternatives like eyelet tie downs put pressure on individual points and still leaves space between eyelets that the wind can attack.
