Livestock shade structures

Livestock shade structures are an important aspect of any farming, ranching or dairy operation. These structures keep your animals protected and safe in all weather conditions. It is worth mentioning that cattle lack the effective natural cooling mechanisms that humans typically possess. As such, heat stress can become a real threat to the safety of your cattle. For instance, the optimal temperature for most cattle ranges from -4 to 18 degrees Celsius. Temperatures in excess of 38 degrees Celsius can prove to be fatal for many breeds.

When people want a building to be cool or warm, they use air-conditioners. However, using air-conditioners for your cattle is hardly a viable option. Providing adequate water is a good way to ensure that your livestock remain hydrated and cool. But, you could keep your livestock from overheating by using polyethylene tarps in your eco shelters and poultry curtains.
