The round cotton modules are then taken to a gin for processing. During the ginning process, the cotton seeds and lint are separated, with the lint being pressed into rectangular bales.
Each cotton module holds around 3.8 cotton bales, weighing around 277kg each.
Round module cotton wrap is an innovative product which replaces the traditional cotton harvesting method and allows for the entire picking process to be carried out by one machine and one operator. Polytex’s cotton wrap has a non-tacky film for the first wrap to prevent the cotton from sticking to the wrap. Once the module has been covered in the non-tacky film, a tacky film is then wrapped around the module to ensure the round module will hold it’s uniformity during transportation and processing. RFID codes are applied to each wrap to allow for identification and tracking through harvesting and throughout the complete process. Polytex’s cotton wrap has protection against UV rays for durability while in the field.
