Cameron, the owner of a building company near the coast has been building units, extensions, and multi-storey properties for the past 15 years and working in the industry for over 25. As an apprentice, Cameron recalls older colleagues making tarps to cover and protect floors during second-storey additions.

One question often asked is, how do you get the framing placement correct when you have a tarp on the floor? Once the tarp is in place, Cameron lays out the framing on the floor in its rough position. He then puts a nail in one corner and runs string lines from that to derive all measurements for his framing.
The tarp was kept on for the whole construction process until the roof was installed. Once the roof was in place the team cut around the base of the framing and removed the tarp. Underneath the tarp was a clean, brand-new floor, that had been protected from the weather and construction work during the build.
Cameron was impressed with the performance and impact of the tarp in protecting the floor and reducing unexpected labour costs when the floor gets weather damaged.
So for his next project, he was keen to once again use a tarp to assist. He ordered a 12m x 15m Builders Tarp with a hem and eyelets on all four sides. The new Builders Tarp was initially used to protect the roof while tiles were being removed. It then was utilised for a secondary purpose as a floor sheet to protect the second-storey floor whilst the new roof was being completed.
